The Education Division within OUP publishes books, digital
resources and course materials for primary, secondary, and further
education, as well as children’s fiction and reference books, and
dictionaries.
We are recruiting for the position of Website & Online
Marketing Specialist within the Education Division. Reporting into
the Head of Web & eDevelopment, you will assist in developing
and maintaining the divisional marketing websites, supporting the
management and planning of website projects as well as directly
making changes to the site. The role also involves key areas of
online marketing including email campaigns, SEO and PPC. You will
understand what’s needed to drive customers to a website, as well
as tricks for keeping them there, and will be able to use the full
online marketing mix to help the marketing teams plan and implement
integrated campaigns to improve both customer acquisition and
retention. You will be an excellent communicator and will be
responsible for supporting the work of the divisional marketing
teams in all areas of online marketing, providing best practice
advice, training and documentation. Further responsibilities include
data analysis and tracking of online activity and sales, product
database work, and online graphic and image development.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following skills and
experience:
Essential:
· Website development skills, including in depth knowledge of
HTML, Javascript and CSS.
· Proven experience in online marketing, including running
email, SEO and PPC campaigns.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an
ability to build and develop relationships.
· Good technical skills with an ability to explain and
train users on new systems.
· Experience of monitoring and reporting on the success of
websites and online marketing campaigns, include use of tracking
technology.
· Good organizational and time management skills and
familiarity with prioritizing a heavy workload.
· Ability to work independently whilst remaining part of a
team.
· A high standard of written English.
· Degree level education, or equivalent.
Desirable:
· Creative skills, including the creation and optimization
of images for web delivery.
· Experience of e-commerce and website content management
systems.
· Understanding of the issues around online information
delivery, including resolution & optimization, file size and
information management.
· Experience of Web 2.0 tools and techniques, including
blogging and social media marketing.
· Experience of managing projects and budgets.
· Interest in new and developing technologies and in
maintaining skills and knowledge in this area.
· Experience in the educational and/or publishing
environments.
Temporary/Permanent - Permanent
Salary -
£20,000 - £26,000 depending on skills and experience
